Dr. Shirley Brummell is devoted to helping others face life’s adversities.
Dr. Shirley Brummell is an academic scholar in psychology and organization development. After dealing with numerous health challenges, Dr. Brummell realized life is about dealing with changes and challenges. She devotes her efforts to assisting others facing life’s adversities.
Dr. Brummell’s academic credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rutgers University, Master’s in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organization Development from Benedictine University. She holds numerous certifications including “Addressing the Spiritual Dimension in Suffering, Healing & Resilience” (Chicago Center for Family Health), “Ministry to the Sick, Dying, and Grieving” (Loyola University), and “The Family Journey with Cancer: Navigating the Challenges” (Chicago Center for Family Health).
Dr. Brummell is an ordained Elder and Reverend serving at the DuPage AME Church on the Pastoral Support Team in Lisle, Illinois. She is founder of Scriptural Inspirational Phrases and produced a compact disc of Daily Inspirational Scriptures entitled Restore Your Soul. She also developed a YouTube Channel during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Brummell created over 200 videos covering varying topics to support the physical, mental, and spiritual life of viewers.
